The look on my grandson's face when he opened this on his birthday was priceless. He LOVED it. This is a sturdy toy and I think it will hold up. He's a rough and tumble boy and loves to crash stuff so we will see. This is a great replica of the Blue Angels jet, it even has "Blue Angels" on the side. Maybe we'll have a pilot in the family!

Beautiful! Shiny!
this is, in fact, die cast metal, with some small plastic parts (landing gear, etc). Appears to be sturdy. It should withstand many years of love from my young son; its for his 4th birthday in a few weeks- hes going to love this!!

I shoed our grandson a video of the famed (he is four years old now) and his parents said he juct could not talk enough about this plane. We purchased this item for a Christmas gift, and he couldn't be happier. I appreciate the quality made toy, and felt it was well worth the price for the joy evident in this youngster's mien!

I really don’t understand why anyone would say anything negative about this item. It’s well made. Cast iron, emblems are perfect and it rides along surfaces nicely. And the price what more do you want? I gave it to my son who is going into the Air Force this year. It’s more than just a toy. I love it and so does he.

Nice feel and size, fits on my desk well. Only downside is that this is the prototype YF-22 and not the final F-22 version that has been in service for over a decade (advertised as the F-22). Shame on me for not realizing it until after purchase, shame on them for selling it as the wrong model.

Nice model of the F-22. Like all Postage stamp models the model is metal. The model should not be played with by children because the nose is somewhat pointed and children might poke themselves.

Super detail on this Model, after seeing it in real life and watching the maneuvers, that they allow us to see. It is a shame the Air Force didn't build more. I believe they regret that now too, after all the BS with the F-35. Could have had thousands of them with all the money they have Blown on the F-35 and not half the problems, shame on them. Great Model indeed.

The model is pretty good, don't get me wrong. However the back left and right Elevators/Horizontal Stabilizers are not anatomically correct. I have worked on many F-22's, so I know. I have handled those parts. The model has the inside edges going straight back, basically parallel to each other, similar to an F-35. Those two edges are mostly at a 45 degree angle off from the centerline of the jet. Look up some photos and you'll see what I mean.
I filed down the metal model myself, by hand, at those two locations to make it correct. Then I added touchup paint.

I really enjoy these metal postage stamp models. The accuracy is typically really good. I can confirm with reviewer Maggie that this is actually the YF-22 prototype. Which isn't bad necessarily, they should just have an accurate description.
The main differences are the angles on the wingtips, and the horizontal stabilizer is shaped differently than the production F-22.
I took a star off because of the inaccurate description, I was also disappointed to find out the vertical stabilizers are plastic and they could have done a better job with detail inside of the cockpit. Because there is none, just a reminder that it's a model and the needed a place to clip the canapoy onto.

I buy a lot of tiny models of planes and they all have a big problem across all companies and that's the fact they depict an aircraft meant to fly with fixed landing gear in the most absurd way. but this company is the first diecast model maker for aircraft of any kind I have seen where this is not an issue and they have their aircraft as if they were in there natural habitat of thousands of feet in the sky at faster than sound. I will buy more of there models as soon as I am done writing this.
P.s. if the company who made this reed this review I am in debt to you for not making me take an hour to kut the landing gear off of a matchbox plane and will buy all models from you for now... YOUR AWESOME!
